Dotonicum Little Leo

Germination: 14-21 days at 68-72°F (20-21°C). Cover seeds lightly with vermiculite.

Sow Time: 7 for flower naturally in 4-5 or force for earlier flowering pot sales.

Crop Time: 4" (10 cm): flowers in 10 weeks from a large vernalized plug, 6" (15 cm): 3 plants per pot, flowers 10 weeks from vernalized plugs

Plug Culture: Stage II (4 weeks), 68-72°F (19-21°C). Maintain consistent moisture. 2 applications of 75 ppm nitrogen per week, 15-5-15. Stage II & IV (3 weeks) 65-68°F (18-19°C) feed 100 ppm nitrogen weekly as needed.

Transplanting: After 10 weeks transplant to a larger plug or a small pot (or Buy in a small plug from a perennial plug supplier). Keep plants moist. Feed with 150 ppm weekly, 15-5-15. Keep night temperatures at 65°F (18°C) for six weeks (longer if you need to increase plant size and root development), then drop temperature ideally to 35°F (2°C) nights to begin cold treatment. At that point keep day temperature at 45°F (7°C) or less. For proper vernalization and faster blooming, 8-10 weeks of cold treatment is recommended.

pH: 5.5-6.2

Cultural Hints: High nutrient requirement, but avoid high nitrogen applications
